Gary Woodland returns to golf after Brain Surgery

Gary Woodland will return to action at next week’s Sony Open in Hawaii, his first start since undergoing brain surgery last September.

On September 18th 2023 Gary woodland underwent surgery on his brain to extract a brain lesion he was diagnosed with having 6 months earlier.

Gary Woodland committed to playing in his first event since the surgery on Friday 5th December. He will join the first full field of the season in the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Gary Woodland at the age of 39, is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, including at the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. He played in 24 events last season, making 18 cuts and finishing in the top 25 six times.
